Overview
The Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Poon Hill is one of Nepal’s most scenic and rewarding Himalayan adventures. This classic trekking route combines the spectacular sunrise viewpoint of Poon Hill (3,210 m) with the breathtaking journey into the heart of the Annapurna Sanctuary.
The trek takes you through beautiful rhododendron forests, traditional Gurung villages, terraced hillsides, waterfalls and dramatic mountain landscapes before reaching Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters.
Unlike a direct ABC trek, the Poon Hill route offers a more diverse trekking experience. You get the panoramic sunrise views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges from Poon Hill, experience traditional mountain villages such as Ghorepani, Tadapani and Chhomrong, and finally enter the spectacular natural amphitheater surrounding Annapurna Base Camp.
