The Mera Peak Climbing itinerary is a carefully planned adventure that begins with your arrival in Kathmandu, followed by a scenic flight to Lukla and a trek through the remote and beautiful Hinku Valley. Along the way, you'll pass traditional Sherpa villages, lush rhododendron forests, alpine meadows, and glacial landscapes while gradually gaining altitude to ensure proper acclimatization. The journey includes an acclimatization day at Thangnak and a basic mountaineering training session at Khare, where experienced guides teach the use of climbing equipment such as crampons, harnesses, and ice axes. From Mera High Camp, you'll make an early morning summit attempt to the top of Mera Peak (6,476 m), where breathtaking panoramic views of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Kanchenjunga await. After celebrating your successful ascent, you'll descend through the same spectacular mountain landscapes back to Lukla before flying to Kathmandu, completing an unforgettable Himalayan adventure that perfectly combines trekking, mountaineering, stunning scenery, and authentic Sherpa culture.

Day 01 :

Day 1: Kathmandu/Ramechhap → Lukla (2,860 m) → Chutanga (2,800 m)

Overview: Take an early flight to Lukla. Meet your trekking team and begin walking through lush pine and rhododendron forests toward Chutanga.

Day 02 :

Day 2: Chutanga → Zatrwa La Pass (4,600 m) → Thuli Kharka (4,300 m)

Overview: A challenging day crossing the high Zatrwa La Pass. This early altitude spike aids in acclimatization. Descend into the Inkhu Valley to spend the night at Thuli Kharka.

Overview: Rest and adjust to the thin air. Your climbing Sherpa will check your gear and conduct a training session on using crampons, harnesses, and ice axes.

Day 07 :

Day 7: Khare → Mera Peak Base Camp (5,300 m)

Trek Duration: 3 – 4 hours
Overview: Walk across the rocky boulder field and step onto the snow-covered Mera Glacier to reach Base Camp (or push straight to High Camp depending on conditions).

Day 08 :

Day 8: Base Camp → Mera High Camp (5,780 m)

Trek Duration: 3 – 4 hours
Overview: Ascend the snow slopes to High Camp, perched on a rocky shelf. Enjoy panoramic sunsets over Everest, Lhotse, and Makalu before turning in early for sleep.

Day 09 :

Day 9: Summit Day! High Camp → Summit (6,476 m) → Khare (4,900 m)

Climb Duration: 8 – 10 hours
Overview: Wake up around 2:00 AM. Trek across the glacier under headlamps. The final 30-meter dome may require a fixed rope and ascender. Celebrate at the top with 360° views of 5 eight-thousand-meter giants before descending safely back to Khare.

Day 10 :

Day 10: Contingency / Reserve Day

Overview: Kept in reserve in case bad weather, high winds, or altitude issues prevent climbing on Day 9.

Day 11 :

Day 11: Khare → Kothe (3,600 m)

Trek Duration: 5 – 6 hours
Overview: Descend back down the valley through Thaknak to reach Kothe, enjoying richer oxygen levels as you drop in elevation.

Day 12 :

Day 12: Kothe → Thuli Kharka (4,300 m)

Trek Duration: 6 hours
Overview: Re-ascend through the forest toward Thuli Kharka in preparation for crossing the Zatrwa La Pass once more.

Day 13 :

Day 13: Thuli Kharka → Zatrwa La Pass → Lukla (2,860 m)

Trek Duration: 6 – 7 hours
Overview: Cross Zatrwa La Pass one last time and descend down to Lukla to celebrate the successful summit with your guides and porters.

Day 14 :

Day 14: Lukla → Kathmandu/Ramechhap Flight

Overview: Fly back to Kathmandu or Ramechhap early in the morning and transfer to your hotel.

Day 15 :

Day 15: Kathmandu Leisure / Departure Day

Overview: A cushion day for potential mountain weather flight delays, or for sightseeing and shopping in Kathmandu.
