Overview

The Langtang Valley Trek is one of Nepal’s most rewarding short Himalayan adventures, combining spectacular mountain scenery, beautiful forests, ancient Buddhist culture and traditional Tamang villages.

Located north of Kathmandu near the Nepal–Tibet border, the Langtang region is one of the closest major trekking destinations to the capital. The area is dominated by Langtang Lirung (7,245 m) and is famous for its glaciers, high-altitude landscapes and rich Tamang and Tibetan-influenced culture.

The classic trek follows the scenic Langtang Valley from Syabrubesi to Kyanjin Gompa, passing through forests, waterfalls, suspension bridges, traditional settlements and alpine meadows.

The main trekking destination is Kyanjin Gompa at approximately 3,870 m, with optional day hikes to Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri for spectacular panoramic Himalayan views.
